“If you saw Bullying, what would you do to stop it? Would you just stand by and let it happen, take part in it or try to stop it?” Not many students think about this, and that is part of the problem. Admit it or not, we all experience different types of Bullying- Cyber Bullying, Physical Bullying, Verbal Bullying, and Social Bullying. These four types are really evident everywhere that is why Bullying is one of the major issues in the society.
According to the Statistics, there are 3.2 million victims of Bullying each year and 160, 000 teens skip school everyday because of Bullying. By that, we can say that Bullying has been part of our lives. Bullying is a serious crime and yet most people are just ignoring or not taking it seriously. We do not know that the people we bully often may have emotional or mental breakdown that may led them to suicide nor death.
What are the things we always do that is associated with growing up? Going to parties, breaking laws or rules, teasing our friends or classmates, falling in love, and many more. In the said selection, teasing is the most common thing to youth. Why? Because it makes the bully happy just to see his or her victim being affected, annoyed, be embarrassed, or get angry. Teasing becomes Bullying when it is repetitive or when there is a conscious intent to hurt another child.
“Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out” this quote may be somehow related to Verbal Bullying. As what the quote is trying to say, we should think first what we really want to say to other people before we tell it out loud. Words are more powerful than swords because it cannot be revoke. Also, words are powerful because they carry energy, sound, and frequency, which are some of the building “blocks” of matter that even a simple word that you said to anyone can shatter their whole existence.
Different Bullying issues have gone viral over the internet on social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Are you even remotely aware of how much pain these victims feel every day? When the victims see no way out, they may choose to tragically end their life, leaving more hurt behind for those who were unable to stop it. So please stop Bullying now! Stand up and speak out!
Fact: 85% of Bullying takes place in front of others. Don’t be a bystander!
